GIs and Remote sensing is very important supporting tool to assess water resources. Our department have completed assessment of water resources of many river basin of Gujarat. Advantages of GIS & RS over old system are very good maps can be prepared of topography , land use land cover, drainage density, stream order , slope map, soil type map, thessein polygon of rain gauge stations all visual data base leads us to reach to assess water balance of whole river basin.

I would like to network with people who are using Geospatial Technologies in Water Resources Management. Any of you attending India Water Week 2015?

Yes, indeed. In hi-tech farming, particularly horticulture crops in poly-houses, 'fogger' installation is an essential element, which starts automatically when the temp inside the poly-house goes up or humidity comes down. Typicallly, these poly-houses are drip irrigated. Solar water pumps have ensured that adequate pressure is available for the water flow in the fogger, even when grid electricity is not available. In Rajasthan, hundreds of success stories exist on this aspect. U r welcome to visit Jaipur, even if it just 1 day. It would be a pleasure to share the ground realities.

Geospatial technology is the latest technology in the water resources. when we are working on data base concept for new generation and existing water resources upgradation.I feel this technology is the best technology in the water resources for next level.

I would be having interest in application of Remote Sensing and GIS in planning and monitoring of Water Resources at micro level. Will there be any presentation/case study on tools applied for monitoring of water resources and its contribution in water balance study at micro-watershed level. I have taken help of IndiaWARIS and Bhuvan for deriving certain parameters essential for water balance study at micro level, these sites provide good support tool for water resource assessment and planning. I am having interest to know more about it to make use of it as decision support tool for water resource management,

GIS technology is an important tool in this topic, our institute (Nile Research Institute) applied this technology in the extracting the cross sections from the recent contour maps, hydrology model under GIS is applied on Nile basin region, solar radiation model under GIS also is used, I hope follow the new in this session in India 2015
