Indian industry has only itself to blame. Clean water is abstracted without regard to protecting the resource and effluent is discharged with scant treatment thus despoiling the downstream flow for other potential abstractors. A complete change in mindset is required. [I made this plea over twenty years ago when working in India but nothing changes].
