While the overuse of water for Agriculture could be widely debated, we shall certainly have to consider that food and faith are the only two luxuries for the majority of the population in India who are majorly poor. The use of modern technology should address the colossal savings possible in urban and industrial landscape before we accuse of the most marginalised of trying to survive on something as basic as agriculture.

First thing has to stop in India is to utter words like "in the name of poor." Schemes, which are not relevant to poor are made in the name of poor. Rampant corruption prevails in the name of poor and marginalised people. Subsidies are given ( and looted) in the name of poor. Freebies are provided ( an looted) in the name of poor. Provide the job opportunity to poor and stop providing freebies in the name of poor.  Moreover it's poor'  not God-given right  to expect everyone else to pay for there children, this mean to say there should be a bar on no. of children one can have.  Farmers don't need waive off of loan, they need better price for there product and better store houses at affordable prices. List is long....in the name of poor...
