Hello the purpose of a filter is to hold the particles suspended in a liquid.  The disadvantage of a filter has been to clog up the suspension of particulate matter. A filter will never be able to purify the pollution dissolved in a liquid. It is invisible devious and dangerous if in addition it of chemical origin
