Dear Scholars, Efficient water Management : Challenges and Opportunities is very good THEME. We have to develop a holistic approach for Efficient water Management. That means starting from the origin of Rivers to Confluence, all the Stakeholders use water for their purposes. They generally extract and use more water and pollutes after its use.So efficient water management has four objectives as listed below. 1. To reduce the water useage by introducing new technologies. 2. To stop the pollution of water bodies by adopting well established waste water treatment systems. 3.To improve the Bio diversity of the water bodies such as lakes, Rivers and Reservoirs by linking the Bio Resources (Flora and Fauna). (One side we promote for Growing more trees and other side we cut the bio resources for our development .) 4. To increase the optimal storage capacity aiming for the next 50 years by negotiating and solving water disputes and implementing the water shed management programme,changing the crops and increasing the millet cultivation and by desilting the existing Tanks and constructing the small and medium projects. So Efficient water management needs Holistic approach which involves Environmental Management and Water efficiency. Thank you
