1992-1996: Director, Chemical Screening and Risk Assessment Division, USEPA, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics. Managed development of human and ecological risk assessments for new and existing industrial chemicals under the Toxic Substances Control Act.

 

1990-1992: Director, Health and Environmental Review Division, USEPA, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics. Managed development of human and ecological hazard assessments for industrial chemicals under the Toxic Substances Control Act.

 

1976-1990: Director, Criteria and Standards Division, EPA, Office of Drinking Water.  Initiated and supervised development of National Drinking Water Regulations and Guidelines for organic and inorganic chemicals, disinfection by-products, microbials, radionuclides, corrosion and surface water treatment under the Safe Drinking Water Act. Developed the EPA drinking water regulatory policy for carcinogens. Initiated the Drinking Water Health Advisory Program, the health effects advisory service for states and public water systems to provide health guidance for drinking water contamination incidents, for unregulated contaminants. Developed, staffed and supervised the organization of more than 30 chemists, toxicologists, microbiologists and engineers, and managed the annual drinking water office technical regulation contract and research budget.

 

1973-1975: Senior Regulatory Analyst for Toxics, Pesticides, Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act in EPA's Office of Planning and Management.      

 

1970-1972: Manager of R & D, for a specialty and fine chemicals producer. Developed new synthetic processes for pheromone chemicals and other commercial products.
