  1. I fully agree with Er. Agrawal. We are not coming out of the old mindset, We need to groom our future generation water leaders and then shoulder the responsibility of country's water management which is so diverse and complex. I am afraid, we are becoming incompetent in bringing in the modern concept of management in the water sector.

  2. It is very good to talk good things and project a dim picture of future without making sincere and correct steps to improve the situation. There is a say that everybody rises to his level of his incompetency. The people who had been in the top official positions in the government can not deny that they could not succeed to prevent the anarchy in irrigated agriculture in India. On one side we are not able to provide irrigation facilities in the designed irrigated area of a project and on the other hand we are developing water logged ares in irrigation projects due to excess of water. Both things are contradictory. But the top brass of country is not ready to even think on this aspect. We are not able to provide water at the tails of most of canals and field channels. It is due to the discrepancies in government concept, planning, design, construction procedures and maintenance. I thought the Modi Government will bring changes in this pathetic situation. But to give responsibilities to the old people of traditional thinking, who could not improve the things earlier, can not bring any desired changes in the irrigated agriculture of India.

    1. Excellent thoughts, the time has change, Information Technology has bridge all the gaps. There is need of Inter-generation Dialogue to motivate the young minds to work in water sector. It is not only the irrigation but other sectoral needs like of Water like drinking water, industry etc also require trained engineers and hydro-geologist who can work in the sector for improving the water sue efficiency and adopt community centric approaches. There is need to provide them platform so that they are empowered to take part in decision making, get employment, use advance technology and work along with experienced people for overall growth & prosperity of society.
