RIVER- REJUVENATION..

I had chance to go-up to visit Dak Pathar where river Yamuna from Yamunotri and Tonz From Himachal merge. The water is so clear and pure but at the same both rivers have been shrinked, like a dhara .Monsoon is approaching,it is best time to revive the rivers from advance technology.

  1. First of all we must get each baby caring to each particle of resource. Need resource awareness among all. Each must realize that our present extraction is higher than capacity of nature. To get or bring equal extraction we must involve each one that demand huge work that we said sasrai-Movement since 2004 and in 2015 Pope defined Cultural Revolution. In absence of this we cannot achieve our desired goal that is Habitable Earth for the next generation. http://sasrai.com/unep-voice-sasrai-movement-in-wed-theme-2015/

  2. The problem is that the dams should be designed for 75 dependability. But to increase the benefit cost ratio and also the unreasonable political influence the dams are practically designed to to store maximum amount of water even in years of low rain fall leaving little water for downstream users and for environment protection. The development activities of the governments are also responsible for deterioration of natural water resources. I have suggested the measures in my article Lakes and their preservation ---- available at Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1qudykzJmfDqP79urUw20ZwKFeKiRFVwhO93w1RLjuJUPdf:https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B7OEEuzHbopKQnIzN0VheXVwMWM it is the duty of the governments and the public to preserve precious water resources.

  3. For Yamuna or for any other indian river, whether it is a drought or a plentiful year, more than 75% of water flows in about four months of monsoon. If we do not store water (through Dams) during monsoon, how we are going rejuvenate the rivers. Whatever water is available in our rivers during lean season, it has been almost fully committed for Irrigation, drinking water etc. If there is surplus, it is only during the monsoon period and it goes to sea unutilized. Dams could save the monsoon flows for us and release them during lean season. But Dams which were earlier temples of modern india have now become orphans. (These are my personal views only)
