- Water flowing from an upper tank & discharging into lower one. For a siphon to flow continuously, The height of upper leg (E) must be less then automatic pressure and the outlet of the down leg (C) must be below the surface of the upper tank. The siphon conduct must also be completely full and free of air & liquid vapour. If any of the condition violated, the siphon will cease to operate under idial condition and autmosphric pressure of 34 ft (Sea level), the maximum height of upper leg is limitied to about 33 Ft.
