Minister of Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu launched a Google Map Toilet Locator to help people find public restrooms, in late Dec 2016.
According to the UN, around 595 million people, or nearly half of India's population, defecate in the open. This is a result of the lack of sanitation infrastructure in the country.
Swachha Bharat is a dream to Indian people to get success and the Govt is trying to help the population as much as possible.
Taking a step towards making Swachh India mission successful, Minister of Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu launched a Google Map toilet locator to help people find public restrooms.
If no one knows the location of the toilets they are not really useful. It is worth mentioning that The Indian government claims to have built nearly 11 million toilets across the country between 2015 and 2016.
Google toilet locator will help with finding the location, i.e. the address and opening hours of communal and public restrooms to maps, aiming to provide easy access to information to people in Delhi and some parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Toilets can be located not just through the app on mobile phones (Android and iOS), but on desktop computers as well.
The service will be accessible to users both in English and Hindi.
Th app can find toilets in malls, hospitals, and gas stations.

This is an excellent initiative by the government. However, people without Internet will still have problems finding the toilets.
